Remembering Vio Douglas Wallace Pitt known as Doug. He wrote to his father that he wanted to command a platoon but was made Battalion intelligence officer and a few days later wounded on fatigue duties presumably by a shell as was in the second line and died a week later. Thank you for your supreme sacrifice. Your great nephew, James Pitt.
