Thomas Jamieson was born on 5 November 1894, the son of James and Elizabeth Jamieson. In July 1910, when he was 15 years old, he went to work for National Bank of Scotland as an apprentice at its Alloa branch. He became a clerk there in July 1913, and in September of that year moved to Stirling branch.
During the First World War Jamieson left the bank to join the army, becoming a Private in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was shot and killed by a sniper on the Western Front on 17 May 1915. He was 20 years old.
