John Guy Frampton was born on 18 June 1889, the son of Henry Frampton, a mineral water manufacturer, and his wife Anne. The family lived in Weston-super-Mare.

In November 1910 he moved to Newport, Monmouth branch as a clerk.

During the First World War Frampton joined the army. In May 1915 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Monmouthshire Regiment. By the time of his death in 1918 he was a Lieutenant in the same regiment.

Lieutenant John Guy Frampton died in France on 4 October 1918. He was 29 years old and left a widow, Gwenda, and one son.
